Dining at Pizza Hut Is All Fun and Games with Patch


BELOIT, Wis. – Pizza Hut is playing games with its diners. Starting Oct. 21, tabletop versions of Patch Products’ Buzzword® and Such & Such® games will be available in more than 3,000 participating dine-in Pizza Hut restaurants nationwide.

The wait-busting promotion is designed to enhance the family dining experience at Pizza Hut, while showcasing Patch’s family -oriented games.

“The Pizza Hut dining experience is all about sharing occasions with friends and family,” said Bob Kraut, vice president of marketing communications for Pizza Hut. “The promotion with Patch enhances that experience by teaming up two products that make a great match – pizza and games.”

“Patch is excited to team up with Pizza Hut once again this year,” said Lisa Wuennemann, director of marketing at Patch Products. “Both companies are committed to encouraging families to spend time together and have fun. In addition, playing Patch games at Pizza Hut is a great way for people to try a new game.”

Also as part of the promotion, Patch will include Pizza Hut coupons in the full board game versions of Buzzword promoting the special offer with on-box messaging that says, “Play Games, Eat Pizza! Pizza Hut Coupons Inside.”

The Games We Play
Buzzword is an engaging, shout-it-out game in which one team has 45 seconds to solve 10 clues with answers that all contain the same buzzword. For example, for the buzzword “ball,” clues would be “prisoner’s ankle garb” or “soccer in Europe,” and the answers would be “ball and chain” and “football,” respectively.

Such & Such is a game filled with clever pairings and witty competition. Players read clues to two-part answers. For example, for the clues “coffee complements” or “the Three Musketeers’ motto” the answers would be “cream and sugar” and “one for all and all for one.”
