Patch Products helps Curves members exercise their minds

BELOIT, Wis. – Exercising minds while exercising bodies is the concept behind a partnership between Patch Products, a family game manufacturer, and Curves International, the world’s largest fitness franchisor.

The six-week promotion of the award-winning Buzzword® game will start Oct. 15 at participating centers. The promotion is designed to improve Curves’ customer satisfaction and generate interaction among the women. It also introduces Curves members to Patch Products’ line of family board games.

“Women working out at Curves will have fun playing Buzzword while getting fit,” said Lisa Wuennemann, director of marketing at Patch Products. “Members won’t be thinking about their workout while they’re playing the game, so it will make their workout seem to go faster. They’ll also want to visit the centers regularly, so they won’t miss any game play.”

Participating Curves centers will receive a 31-by-22-inch write-on wipe-off board, pen, entry forms, ballot box and Buzzword game cards to play the game with their members. In the game, players are given a buzzword and clues. All of the answers contain the buzzword. For example, if the buzzword is “apple” and the clue is “New York’s nickname,” the answer would be “The Big Apple.”

Buzzword was a great way to exercise our members’ minds as well as create conversation on the circuit,” Brenda Swanson, Wisconsin Curves Association president, said after the promotion was tested at several facilities. “It was simple to incorporate and so much fun without interrupting their workout.”

New customers were impressed that members were having so much fun while working out, according to Curves’ owners who tested the promotion.
