Patch Products and News America Marketing Collaborate on PEOPLE Magazine Game Sweepstakes

"Back to School, Back to Savings" runs in News America Marketing's SmartSource magazine, in 750 newspapers August 18

Beloit, Wis. -- Game company Patch Products announced a joint promotion with News America Marketing, a News Corporation Company, for the SmartSource Magazine "Back To School, Back To Savings Sweepstakes." The sweepstakes will run on the inside front cover of SmartSource Magazine, inserted in 750 newspapers and read by 60 million consumers nationwide, on Sunday, August 18, 2002.

Patch Products will provide 800 PEOPLE Magazine games as Second Prizes in the Sweepstakes. In addition to exposure for the new PEOPLE Magazine Game, Patch Products receives a link from the SmartSource web site and inclusion in a SmartSource e-mail blast to approximately 300,000 subscribers.

The SmartSource Magazine "Back To School, Back To Savings Sweepstakes" runs August 18, 2002 through September 16, 2002. Those 18 and older can enter by filling out and mailing the entry in the August 18 SmartSource Magazine, or can enter online at http://www.smartsource.com. The Grand Prize is a five-year term $10,000 Orange CD™ from ING DIRECT, and First Prize is a three-day trip for two to the U.S. Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL.

"SmartSource Magazine is a great avenue to gain exposure for our new PEOPLE Magazine Game," says Frank Beres, Promotions Manager at Patch Products. "The wide distribution allows us to reach a large number of families during the important back-to-school time."

The PEOPLE Magazine Game, from Patch Products, brings to life over 1,000 celebrities and other notables through team play, a speedy pace and wagering. Players take turns in the spotlight while their teammates try to guess the identity of the famous person they're portraying by doing an impression, drawing a caricature, acting out a charade, or referencing TV shows or movies. Mini PEOPLE magazine play pieces are collected to win. Four or more players on two teams participate and the game is intended for ages 12 & up.
