Patch Products to Serve up Fun at T.G.I. Friday’s® Restaurants
Beloit, Wis. -- Patch Products, Inc. and T.G.I. Friday’s® restaurants have joined forces for a fourth quarter in-restaurant promotion. September through
December 2001, decks of Patch Products’ top-selling Malarky® and Mad Gab® game cards will be at the bars in 497 T.G.I. Friday’s restaurants in the
U.S. to entertain guests. As a retail portion of the promotion, Malarky games sold will feature “As played at T.G.I. Friday’s” on the packaging.
In addition, T.G.I. Friday’s restaurants will distribute to their guests 200,000 $5 rebates off Patch Products’ Malarky®, Blurt!®, Mad Gab® and Best of
TriBond® board games. Consumers can purchase one of these four games from any retailer, then send the rebate and sales receipt to Patch Products for
redemption. The rebate is valid through October 31, 2001. The rebate allows T.G.I. Friday’s guests who enjoy playing the games at the restaurant, a
special price for a limited time.
“T.G.I. Friday’s provides the perfect atmosphere for Mad Gab and Malarky,” says Tracy Dudkiewicz, VP Promotions at Patch Products. “When you add
FUN to food and friends, you have a party. By providing entertainment, we are providing fun, and we think people will enjoy our games enough to add them
to their holiday wish list.”
“Partnering with Patch Products and their games supports our efforts to ensure that our guests have fun while they enjoy great food and beverages at T.G.I.
Friday’s restaurants,” says Janna Markle, senior director of brand licensing. “This will give our guests the opportunity to interact with each other and connect
in a different way.”
In Malarky, one player, without anyone else knowing who, is given the actual answer to questions that we often think about but rarely solve, like “Why is red
wine not supposed to be chilled?” or “Why are racquetballs blue?” Everyone else relies on their imagination to come up with believable bluffs. The laughter
begins when players reveal their solution and must decide – is this the real answer? Or is it Malarky?!
The object of Mad Gab is to sound out a group of words until you can “hear” the answer. Repeat out loud the following words, “ALE HALF RYE HIT.”
Did you hear yourself saying, “A laugh riot?” In Mad Gab, It’s Not What You Say, It’s What You Hear!™
