Patch's ShakeDown™ Game Wins Three Toy Awards
BELOIT, Wis.— ShakeDown™, the new card-stacking game from Patch Products, has won
three toy awards—two from parenting groups and one from a group recognizing "games that make you laugh."
"ShakeDown is a dexterity game of clearly Major Fun proportions," said the reviewer who gave the game the Major Fun
Award in the party game category. "All in all, an elegant, almost self-explanatory, somewhat Jenga-like game, requiring
steady hands, a willingness to fail and just enough luck to keep you from taking it seriously."
In addition to the Major Fun Award, ShakeDown also received The National Parenting Center's Seal of Approval for
spring 2007 and the iParenting Media Awards Excellent Products of 2007.
The goal of the card-stacking party game is to Stack 'Em Wide, Don't Let 'Em Slide!™
Players pick up the game tower, draw cards from the bottom of the tower and then place them on top, making the stack grow
big and wide, but being careful that cards don't slide off. Some of the cards require players to do various actions, such as
hold the tower and do the twist, place the tower on the floor or drumroll on the table.
"This clever card-stacking game reminded our testers of Jenga, given the fact that it requires a steady hand and winners
are those who have a keen sense of balance," The National Parenting Center reviewer said. "This is the type of game that
really appeals to a wide age group and entertains everyone who plays."
"This is a unique game, and it's fun!" said the iParenting Media Awards reviewer. "It is easy for even younger children to
pick up and try together as it does not require a lot of knowledge like a trivia game or strategy game like chess."
