Game Nights Bring Family & Friends Together
BELOIT, Wis. – Patch Products, along with supporters Sylvan Learning Center, KOA Kampgrounds, iParenting Media,
Great Wolf Lodge Family Resorts and National Games Week, is proud to announce that families and friends from
across the country have logged over one million minutes (actually 1,004,294 minutes) of game play during the
2005 Million Minute Family Challenge™!
The Million Minute Family Challenge™ is a grassroots effort encouraging interaction and communication
among family and friends through playing board and card games. A variety of game playing groups from across
the United States including game clubs, youth groups, classrooms, homeschool associations, retailers and
families participated in the 2005 Million Minute Family Challenge™ with the top five minute logging
groups as follows:
1. Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach, CA
2. SCSU (St. Cloud State University) Games Club of St. Cloud, MN
3. Girl Scout Troop #2073 of Pineland, TX
4. REACH Homeschool Group of Locust Grove, VA
5. PST..PIFS, Scrapbooks & Techniques of Riverside, CA
Congratulations also to the Holland Family of Kirkland, Illinois, which logged the most game playing minutes
for a single family!
“We attribute the success of the 2005 Million Minute Family Challenge™ to the thousands of game loving
participants who brought family and friends together to play games,” says Lisa Wuennemann, Director of
Marketing at Patch Products. “Board games provide family and friends an opportunity to communicate and
interact with each other. Plus with the average game costing $25 they are an economical evening of
entertainment.”
