History of Backyard Games
Many years ago, before professional sports, kids didn't spend a lot of time playing with footballs and basketballs. They made up games that required no equipment, and many are still popular today. Games like tag, kick the can, and hide & seek are so old, we will never know who thought them up.
As balls became better made and available to more people, kids figured out new ways to play and have fun. Instead of just playing catch, youngsters used balls to create games like dodge ball, spud and ball tag.
